As a naturalist, I deeply regret the close relationship society holds between nudity and sex, as if being nude under any circumstances has to have sexual implications. There was an interesting piece in the winter edition of N regarding how nudity is perceived in different distinct cultures. How do we change the way it is perceived in mainstream western culture?

I doubt that we can conrol the attitude of others toward naked/sex/nudity. But what we can control is our own behavior and attitude. Speaking positively whenever we have the opportunity. Stating that we do favor nudity and why. I once hiked nude with a guy who carried cards to hand out as he met clothed folks on the trail. the notes stated why he favored hiking nude. He never received a rebuff. ---Just doing his part.

Perhaps we as a society need to learn that the body, man or woman, is just that, a body and we should be aware that men and women differ in appearence. There is a general commanality for all men to look similar, and for all women to look similar. Beyond that, and more important to nudism is what is between the ears of men and women. Here the process to accept, in a positive state of mind, the nude bodies of others as nature and natural, and to concentrate on the personality, traits, and actions is more important than looking at a nude body. There is nothing wrong with looking at a nude man or woman, boy or girl, and appreciating a healthy person's body. However; we should always emphasize a clean, wholesomeness to that appreciation process in each of our minds and the minds of others. There are good things in this world and there are bad things. It is not difficult to differentiate between these two opposites and those of us who practice social nudism should always take the high road and defend it as needed. In short, do good things and do not do bad things....in deed or thought.

All sites have their share of 'Penis Brains', some more than others. The sister site to NF (NS) was out of action last Aug/Sept when they were forced to do a clean up. Here in the UK, we have a most respectable site which is tightly moderated. One feature of the profiles is you are asked - but it is not compulsory to declare your GENDER. It is a freebie site for a look round, or $10.00 USA dollars £7.00 GBP for a years full membership. It is the norm for around 60% of new members especially in the freebie section to declare themselves as Gay or Bi. As we do not believe that 60% of the Male population are Gay or Bi, Are they just looking to see who and what, is on a Naturist site. Another possibility might be that they are more likely to have enough confidence to be Naturists/Nudists and join a site, rather than 'straight' males. Who knows!

How about MEN stop posing in there pictures with erections and spreading there legs in pictures as though to say "HEY, HERE IT IS, COME AND GET IT".Personally,that's what I believe those pictures stait. A man HAS THE ABILITY TO CONTROL HIS THOUGHTS.If he finds himself in a situation where he cannot,he should remove himself from the situation untill he can calm down. Another issue is this. The issue is never going to go away.If we can develope a site that can weed out the pervs and develope more of them, then we would have a chance of gaining ground in the mainstreem media and gain respect and trust. This is a battle that goes back to the time of Noah. Remember, he was " seen naked in his tent while asleep from his drunkeness by his sons and they did laugh." Years ago it did not seem as apparent, or maybe folks were more discreet, but nowadays especially since the coming of the internet, it seems that sites are infected by 'Sex Pests' and those seeking sexual opportunities. Using U.K based sites as well as NF and NS, we have had many approaches from Couples, many more from Single Males and even Single Males pretending to be couples. Some seem to be 'Genuine' with no sexual agenda, others are quite open as to what they are seeking. Webmasters have a constant problem vetting profiles to clear out the more obvious ones that are are so called 'Penis Brains'.
Of course one influence is that as people live longer, many people of say 45 and upwards want to add some spice to their lives. They have 'recycled' their old wife who did not want to be a 'nuddie' and are looking for new pastures.
If we had a solution, we would 'can it' and sell it, make our fortunes.
Naturisum/Nudisum will never be sexless, BUT, we could do without all those offers from folks that think 'We are up for it! after the briefest of meetings or contacts.
I would mention that I met my lady via this site back in July 2006, she was already a naturist. It was like finding gold.
