Sorry if this has been asked before, I have recently started to sunbathe naked in the back garden in manchester uk and am surrounded by high fences, if a neighbor or other saw me and complained would I be liable to prosecution for indecent behavior/exposure, I must point out I am only sunbathing and am not erect or doing anything sexual.
There is no law prohibiting simple nudity as long as it is not done to cause "alarm or distress". I have done several clothesfree walks in our lovely kent countryside in an area between the M25 and M20 covering fields, woodland and across a railway crossing, occasionally encountering clothed walkers(or "textiles!") and haven't had a negative comment, I find a cheery "good-day" is fine. I have also sunbathed naked in my garden, a new 7 storey apartment block has just been put up which directly overlooks my garden now and I see no reason not to continue(when the winter is over!) as I didn't ask for it to be built, if someone doesn't like what they see they can look away!
I don't know the laws in the U.K.,but I believe if there are indecency laws prohibiting such innocent acts I'm sure there will be that one nosey neighbor who is uncomfortable with his/her nakedness that they will call the authorities. That's just the way it is.
In Britain if a man sunbathes naked in his garden and a woman standing on her roof spots him He may be commiting an offence
if a woman is in the garden naked and you accidently see her you are a peeping tom
Whilst my garden isn't totally secluded, I take the opportunity when I can to sunbathe naked. If I hear anyone coming, I quickly cover up.
There was a case in the paper recently when a woman was allowed to sunbathe naked in her back garden. Can't remember the full facts though.
