I've been modelling for more than 15 years...
Girls who might be embarrassed or affronted (who are actually in a very small minority, anyway..) would not be in these classes, usually, to start with. You won't worry about them, as you will be more focused on your poses, and giving the group as a whole what they want.
Another thing people ask me is what I do about an erection when it comes up ? my answer : nothing... It rarely happens, and usually goes away soon enough,(posing for art classes is usually too uncomfortable, and sometimes too drafty and cool/cold, for this to happen too often..). Nobody's actually complained, yet, at any rate.
I find the main problem to be trying to relax 'into' some poses, and trying to avoid too many aches and pains during awkard and long poses. 'Shrinkage' and 'goosebumps' during cold weather, or in cold studios, can sometimes be a problem too, even with heaters.

    Hi Emiko, group,
I am an artist and back in the days when I was drawing nudes, our class was so relaxed that if a model cancelled, several of us would take turns. I was tall and lean then so being confident in myself and my body helped. Truthfully though, when some of the models defied normal physical characteristics, we did talk or joke but lightly and not in front of them. Our art teacher was effeminant and guys were supposed to wear jock straps in the first year of this class. So when one guy started posing without one, the teacher ordered him into the supply room to find anything. He came back out with the mesh bags they store oranges in and wrapped it around his penis. That was far more gross than him being natural. Funny how our society struggles with teh male organ. That was funny though. The other example was when a lady model arrived and in her robe she looked very heavy. When she disrobed it was not a tummy but enormous breasts. Then to make matters worse, she posed with her legs and hips propped up on a chair and her head down. When she did that, her large breasts just toppled over her shoulder about a foot and a half beyond. Several of us exclaimes "I can't draw that" and the whole class erupted in laughter. But other than those two times, we were very respectful.Today models get between $15 and $25 an hour so not bad. I still love being naked and especially meeting others who see it as a natural extension of who they are. And whether we are naked or clothed, a sense of humor really helps. Emiko, if you read this, I am a standard member so have not been able to reach you. Be nice to meet you being that we are both in Fort Collins.

I've always wanted to do that, for an art class or photography studio. Trouble is, I'm older now, but my photos aren't bad. Contact me if you can use me.

You can call the local colleges and speak to one of the professors in the art classes about being a nude model. They sometimes will book the same model for the entire term.College art students have seen it before and are respectful so that is not a problem. The profs are still in charge of the class and they do an excellent job with the students and models.Ask the profs to refer you to others. They usually have contacts at other schools.
Contact some photographers as well to get some kind of portfolio together.

I modeled nude for a small college. My wife and her girlfriend arranged it for me. I was paid. I did it for several years, did private modeling either at my home or there home for one or more, always college girls, they loved it too.I was required to cover when I got aroused.I was always aroused during private modeling. No problem for anyone.

Personally, I would LOVE to be a nude model for an art class, but don't know how to go about it. I did a Spencer Tunick "installation" here in Buffalo, NY, and found it very exhilerating.

I do art modeling in a university figure drawing class. The students are instructed to be mature and to appreciate that what the model provides is a valuable service. Most art students that I have come across are respectful and understanding in that what you are sharing with them is for their benefit in becoming better at figure drawing. If you ever have any problems or apprehensions, please go and discuss these problems with the art professor. Most art professors understand how difficult it is to attract and retain reliable and cooperative art models and will address your concerns. We have a female model right now who is going through what you are talking about. She will only pose topless as she does not feel comfortable enough yet to pose nude. She needs more time to feel comfortable so that when she eventually does pose nude, she will feel respected by the artists and not have comments made about her. Also remember that those few who make silly comments about the art models are immature, unprofessional, and have the problem. You are NOT the problem and have the courage and maturity to pose for the class. The same can not be said about those who make silly comments. Good luck!

Why not? If the occasion comes. I
ve been a model for groups of girls before. It was no problem for me. The trick is to be listening cautiously to what they speak about "secretly" and to be able of some humour to relax the atmosphere sometimes. Among the girls, you
ll always find some nerds that are seriously learning the art of portraying a nude male figure, you. And then you
re bound to have some less serious girls that will try to make fun out of having a naked man in front of them. It
s indeed a good and easy pretext. With those you kind of have to think always "ahead" of their jokes, crack them or be sort of a complice, make them laugh yourself and then you
ll never be in trouble. Otherwise the problems might originate in your own apprehensions. My own experiences as a whole were really something fantastic!
